About TaeKwon-Do
​
Taekwon-Do is a military martial art which focuses on discipline, technique and mental training, all building towards a strong sense of self-awareness, integrity and humility.
​
At Ampthill Finch Taekwon-Do we understand it is the story of the individual students to successfully achieve their goals that matters the most. Everyone is motivated by different desires to make the decision to try Taekwon-Do, this could be fitness, wanting to feel stronger or to push yourselves - we will work together and help you to build confidence in order to achieve these goals. Our instructors have the experience of teaching all ages, at all levels, demonstrating to you the positive experience that Taekwon-Do has to offer.

Finch Taekwon-Do teaches you valuable martial arts and life skills, which can eventually lead to achieving a Black Belt in our school. We pride ourselves on emphasising self-confidence, respect and courage, whilst simaltaneously teaching important self-defence techniques to help you feel stronger and secure in everyday life.

When joining our club, our students begin an important journey of being motivated and inspired to achieve their goals. Whatever your reason for joining our Taekwon-Do class, our instructors can guide you towards this and this will stay with you in the future.

INSTRUCTORS
Master Finch VII
CHIEF INSTRUCTOR
Has been involved in Taekwon-Do for more than 35 years. He was promoted to 1st Degree in 1990 by Grandmaster Hee Il Cho IX degree. He then continued his training achieving his Master VII degree status in 2021.
​
Jon Finch has attended several international seminars and courses around the world, to enhance his skills and talent. This also involved seminars under the instruction of the founder of Taekwon-Do, General Choi Hong Hi, Grandmaster Choi Jong Hwa, Grandmaster Rudolf Kong and Grandmaster Sahota.
​
Jon is a fully qualified Instructor with the UKGT (United Kingdom Global Taekwon-Do), affiliated to the UITF (Unified International Taekwon-Do Federation). All UKGT Instructors undergo training approved by the UITF, which includes teaching techniques, child safety, and an enhanced DBS check.
Jo-Anne Finch VI
INSTRUCTOR

Instructor at Finch Taekwon-Do, with 30 years of experience gaining her 1st Degree in 1994.
Jo-Anne is currently training towards her VI degree.​ In addition to Taekwon-Do, Jo-Anne enjoys long distance running, shown by her participation in the 2012 and 2014 London Marathon.
​

Gemma Finch III
INSTRUCTOR
Gemma started Taekwon-Do when she was just 5 years old, and went on to achieving her blackbelt status when she was 9 years old.
​
She is currently training towards her 4th degree blackbelt.
​
